Foreday Mornin’ bands will no longer have to pay a $750 registration fee to participate in Crop Over. Furthermore, the closing time for that popular event has been extended by an hour to 8 a.m., while Grand Kadooment will now finish at 10 p.m.
These were three of the decisions agreed to between the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) and bandleaders at a special meeting called to discuss security and other matters on Thursday night at the Steel Shed in Queens Park.
The major areas not finalised were the route for Grand Kadooment and a change from the BIDC car park as one starting point for Foreday Mornin’. Also, still to be agreed on are permission for bands to again use 40-foot music trucks for both Foreday Mornin’ and Grand Kadooment. (SP)
