ROLAND BUTCHER has been bowled over once again with his innings as chairman of the Barbados senior selection panel coming to a premature end after a mere two months at the crease.

The former Barbados and England batsman was stripped of the chairmanship at a meeting of the Barbados Tridents’ Franchise Board on Monday night after there were concerns about a conflict of interest.

Consequently, former Barbados one-day swing bowler Henderson Broomes has been elevated to the position of chairman and Butcher relegated to just a member of the selection panel.

Broomes was the only selector retained on the Butcher-led panel after the contracts of former chairman Hendy Wallace and Sherlon Greaves were not renewed.

The other selector on the new panel is ex-Barbados captain and long-standing all-rounder Ryan Hinds, who also represented the West Indies.
