UPDATE: Shooting victim passes

Akem “Pet Head” Jabari Leon, 27, of 3rd Avenue Mannings Land, St Michael is the island’s latest murder victim.

News of his death was confirmed by police public relations officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss moments ago.

Leon was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting last night, and was warded in critical condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  Also injured was Romario Akeem Phillips, 25, of the same address. He was grazed on the left side of his head by a bullet and has since been discharged.

Leon, the father of two, is the 20th person to die by the gun, and the 31st recorded murder for the year. (RA)
