Santia: Agency must bear responsibility

The National Housing Corporation (NHC) must take responsibility for the unfortunate death of Kyriq Boyce yesterday, says St Michael South East representative Santia Bradshaw.

And she has vowed to do all in her power to ensure the teenager’s family get their legal rights in this matter.

Speaking from Miami where she is getting a medical check-up, Bradshaw was overcome with emotion on hearing of Boyce’s death.

“The Pinelands housing area is one of the oldest housing estates which falls under the management of the NHC. It has suffered, as have many of the other estates, from not having a structured and regular inspection and maintenance programme.

“I have been lobbying NHC for years on this matter and I am extremely angry that this is the consequential outcome of years of neglect and a lack of proper maintenance,” said Bradshaw. (SP)
