Sagicor two cut ties

Barbados’ largest life insurance company Sagicor has seen two of its senior managers leave the company on the same day.

Sagicor Life Insurance Company Limited was struck with the exit of two agency managers last Thursday, and reports are that at least another 18 agents, known as Sagicor advisors, could follow in the next few days as a sign of solidarity with their former bosses.

The departing two senior life underwriters are reportedly joining one of Sagicor’s largest competitors, Guardian General Life Insurance Company. Both had come over from the collapsed CLICO in 2012.

Gay Griffith, vice-president of sales at Sagicor, confirmed the resignations of agency managers Robin Taylor and David Cave last week, but said he was “unaware of any disharmony” at the company, as none had been brought to his attention. (BA)
