BARBADOS underlined their dominance in regional youth cricket by capturing Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 Championship in St Vincent yesterday.

The unbeaten Bajans clinched the title after defeating Leeward Islands by five wickets in their fifth and final round match at the Park Hill ground.

It was Barbados’ second junior title in a month following the national Under-17 retaining their crown in Trinidad.

Barbados Under-19s, the pre-series leaders going into their last match, made light work of Leeward Islands, restricting their opponents to 106 in 38.4 overs before racing to the target in only 14.5 overs while losing five wickets. (HG)
