Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley put the Caribbean’s case of relevance in a growing global village to the rest of the world yesterday.

Delivering the 16th Raul Prebisch Lecture to the United Nations at Palais De Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, she let it be known that the Caribbean region would not be ignored going forward.

“Even if for many we are invisible, we are not dispensable. We have a story to tell and we have an experience to share,” she said.

“The region from which I come is unique. It is a place that represents all of the world’s different civilisations living in peace and harmony. We have a story to tell and that is how different people can live together, but is premised on respect and understanding the dignity of each human being,” Mottley added. (BA)
