Chief executive officer of the Professional Road Tennis Association (PRTA) Dale Clarke has contended that his recently held RT13 double editions were the successful staging of a new concept.

Clarke was responding to a review on the novel competition which appeared in the WEEKEND NATION of September 20, headlined RT 13 Flop.

“It is quite unfortunate that the just concluded RT13 Challenge has been deemed a flop,” he stated.

“The inaugural RT13 series was purposely set as an invitational tournament, to introduce this new, exciting concept. When we met with our sponsors, we explained the new path we wanted to take the sport.

“The RT13 concept was developed to make road tennis more competitive, exciting and television-friendly,” Clarke added. (KB)
