Work on Fairchild Street Market

Share post:

A major eyesore in The City will soon disappear into the annals of history, making way for a new structure.

The metal frame of the old Fairchild Street Market is being removed as part of upgrades which will be done by the Urban Development Commission, in association with the Market Division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

As a result, no parking will be allowed in the precincts of the Fairchild Street Market, and as the project advances, adequate signage will be erected to restrict access and clearly demarcate the area.

During the construction work, it will necessitate the movement of heavy duty traffic, and while the contractors will make every effort to ensure a safe system of work and to reduce the risk of any injury to life and property, it will be incumbent on all parties to remain vigilant during the upgrade.
