Collapsed well floor halts work at Hampton

Customers in parts of Christ Church and St Philip should brace for outages following an incident at the Barbados Water Authority’s Hampton Pumping Station.

While crews were working to complete equipment repair, the well floor collapsed and brought work to a halt.

“No one has been injured and no damage sustained to any of the equipment that was being installed at the time,” the BWA said in a release.

“However, this means that the repair work cannot be completed today as planned. It also means that this section of the Authority’s distribution network will be without the four million gallons of water which would have been added to the system once work was completed.”

In issuing an apology, the BWA said this issue is likely to affect customers located between Kendall Hill, Christ Church and Ragged Point, St Philip. (PR/SAT)
