Solution ‘soon’ to CBC pension issue

A SOLUTION to the 30 former employees of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) receiving their statutory pensions may be right around the corner.

Some of them met with CBC management at its Pine, St Michael headquarters yesterday to work out a resolution after months of discussions.

Spokesman for the group, former news editor Peter Thorne, said the nearly two-hour talks were “fiery and contentious at times, but frank”.

“A delegation of 12 met with acting general manager Sherwood McCaskie; chairman David Leacock; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Public Affairs, Sandra Phillips; and board secretary Kimberly Alleyne. (CA)
