It will be a Christmas to remember for Nikita McClean who left Barbados at eight months old and never returned – until yesterday.
McClean, who will celebrate her 32nd birthday on Christmas Eve, was reunited with family members at Grantley Adams International Airport as part of Starcom Network’s Home For The Holidays promotion.
As she emerged from the Arrivals Hall just after 4 p.m. from Canada, emotions filled the air, causing her to shed a tear of joy and jubilation. She was surrounded by mother Dale Yarde, seven brothers, a sister and a niece who could hardly contain their excitement.
“It’s indescribable. I’m trying to keep my emotions intact. I was longing to come home to see my family,” she told the Weekend Nation before putting her hands to her mouth and pausing while fighting back tears.(AGB)
