Barbadians who previously experienced delays in receiving their sickness and other payment claims from the National Insurance Scheme should be happier this Christmas.
According to acting director of the National Insurance Department, Jennifer Hunte, an overtime project, which included some staff working during the week and on weekends, had reaped significant results.
Speaking to the DAILY NATION as the department held its annual Christmas party at George Washington House, Garrison, St Michael, on Saturday night, Hunte said while there had been 26 733 outstanding claims up to October 31, 2018, that had been reduced to 9 149 in the same period this year, due to the hard work of her staff.
