IDL Walkers Sand Quarry Isolation Cavaliers will play in the Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) First Division competition in the 2020 season.
The team from Lakes, St Andrew, were duly crowned kings of lower division cricket yesterday at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology ground by adding the Intermediate Division title to the 40-Over Shield Championship.
It also earned them promotion to the second-highest tier of local domestic cricket after enduring heartbreaking failure on three previous occasions in the final.
“Isolation” cemented their virtually impregnable position by removing the last two North Stars wickets in the space of four overs to claim an overwhelming first innings lead of 192, after dismissing their opponents for 99 in reply to their healthy total of 291. (WH)
