One of Barbados’ naturally talented apprentice riders, Jason “Jet Lee” Hoyte, is looking to rock and roll in the saddle and launch his comeback at the Garrison Savannah on Thursday afternoon.
The special race day, known as the Diamonds International/Crown of Light Boxing Day At The Races, will also see the likes of Woodbine-based jockey Keveh Nicholls, Gulfstream Park-based Jalon Samuel and Rey Williams, who suited up last at Century Downs.
The 33-year-old Hoyte is back in the racing irons after a 14-year hiatus and will have five rides on Boxing Day.
Hoyte last rode competitively back in 2005 before jetting off to Toronto and finding his feet at Woodbine’s racetrack. He was employed as a work rider for Sovereign Award-winning champion trainer Mark Casse. (LY)
