Light work for visiting Rochester

High-intensity defence and ball movement were the characteristics that the University of Rochester women’s basketball team possessed in their thrashing of an inexperienced Combined Clubs Select Team 72-46 at the Wildey Gymnasium on Monday night.

The university is here on a “partial holiday” from New York as they prepare for the second semester basketball in the United States while still taking in some sun and relaxation.

Head coach of the university, Jim Scheible, is overjoyed with the experience his team is getting from being on the island.

“It was great to play this game. We have a big break between our first and second semester of games so the opportunity to play against a good team and knock off some rust and get ourselves back in shape for the second semester is excellent. Our team loves the island, we love the people and this is a great experience for us,” he said. (NI)
