Construction of the permanent outfall of the South Coast Sewage Treatment Plant will begin this year.

In fact, said Minister of Water Resources Wilfred Abrahams, the contract for the works will be awarded by next month.

He made the disclosure to the DAILY NATION yesterday as he attended the first We Gatherin’ 2020 event at River Bay, St Lucy.

“What we do not want to do is put a plant in place that is not adequate for what it is we want or is not utilising the best technology, and that by the time we put it in, it is outdated,” Abrahams noted.  (HLE)
