The competition may be tough but Barbados triathlete Matthew Wright isn’t giving up.

And on his journey to this year’s Tokyo Olympics he managed to place in the top ten at the Formosa CAMTRI Triathlon American Cup between November 16 and 17.

“After the ITU Triathlon World Cup in Lima, Peru, I had another two races before the season finished. The one in Argentina was pretty good. I was eighth and then before that I did a World Cup in Santo Domingo which wasn’t as great. I was 22nd there but I did a really good swim; my run wasn’t as good as I wanted,” he told NATION SPORT.

“I’m kind of in the middle at the moment where I won’t know exactly where I’m going to be until the middle of May when qualification finishes. . .”  (RG)
