Grace Hill move gets thumbs up

The Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) and some parents are happy Class 4 students of Lawrence T. Gay Memorial Primary School are back in the classroom.

But parents are still concerned ongoing environmental issues will affect pupils preparing for the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Exam, also known as the 11-Plus.

Last week the Spooner’s Hill, St Michael school was forced to close as environmental issues from four years ago resurfaced.

Following a meeting with Ministry of Education officials, the Parent-Teacher Association was informed the three Class 4s would be accommodated at the nearby Grace Hill Moravian Church. (RA)
