Quality assurance manager at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC) Mary Rose has died.

Rose passed away Friday at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient for several weeks.

Once one of Barbados’ top fashion models, Rose was a familiar face at the LESC where she had been working for over 20 years. She was 64 years old.

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley in a brief tribute last night, said Rose represented the very best of traditional Barbadian manners, graciousness and quiet dignity.

“Mary was to the very end, dignified and gracious. She had a unique style that allowed her to reach everyone irrespective of what station in life they were at.

“We shall certainly miss her from the LESC where for many years, she was always there to serve in whatever capacity that would make your experience at that location easier and better. Anyone who knew her can testify to what I am saying,” she said. (GC)
