Omega XL Deacons enjoyed double celebrations when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Junior Volleyball Knockouts climaxed Monday night at the Wildey Gymnasium.

Unfortunately, Deacons’ arch-rivals Chargers tasted defeat twice in the straight sets finals. Deacons’ women took the first finals 25-19, 25-23, 25-13, while the men won 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.

The four teams displayed a great blend of youth and experienced players with Deacons’ Tamesha Webb, Tamar Maynard, Marissa Dowell, Brian Payne, Klode Thompson, Levi Padmore and former Barbados captain Elwyn Oxley proving the superior force. (KB)
