The finals of the 2020 National Primary Schools’ Athletics Championships (NAPSAC) at the National Stadium have been delayed.

Minister of Sports John King told those gathered he was awaiting word from the Ministry of Health on whether the games would proceed.

Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic had earlier announced Barbados’ first two cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) as well as the activation of the Stage 1 national response.

As part of that plan, all public gatherings are restricted to 100 people or fewer.

Hundreds of athletes, students and spectators, as well as the organisers and volunteers are at the National Stadium for the final event on the primary athletics programme.

More details as they come. (SAT)
