Setting fires unkind, says chief

Chief Fire Officer, Errol Maynard, has asked people to be more considerate and stop indiscriminate burning.

He made this appeal today after the Barbados Fire Service responded to grass fires, particularly in St John, St Philip and Christ Church.

“At this time, there are a number of people at home from work because of the coronavirus and some of them have asthma and other respiratory ailments.  They are being adversely affected by these fires, and it is really unkind to be setting these fires at a time like this,” he said in a statement.
