A Government medical official says there are “several inaccuracies” in the stories in which Ronald Fenty, father of Barbadian pop star Rihanna, was reported in the British media as having been recently struck down with the coronavirus.
“Unfortunately, a lot of what was said was very inaccurate, but because this is Mr Fenty’s medical information we can’t say anything else,” said the senior doctor, who is associated with the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 medical team.
This newspaper reached out to the ministry for a comment after interviewing Fenty yesterday morning, but received different accounts from him than what appeared in the Daily Mail and The Sun, both British publications which carried the story on Thursday.
The publications reported that Fenty, 66, had tested positive for the virus and was quarantined at the Barbados Defence Force’s Paragon Base for two weeks.
During an interview with the Saturday Sun, Fenty said he was at Paragon for four days.
