The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has advised residents and businesses in St Michael and Christ Church, that on Sunday, June 7, it was discovered that the Reservoir at Fort George is empty.

“Investigations are underway to determine the cause. The areas affected by this problem may include: in St Michael – Wildey, Pine, Collymore Rock, Flag Staff, Bonnetts, Brittons [Hill], Forde’s Road and surrounding areas. In Christ Church – Vauxhall, Sargeant’s Village, Fort George Heights, Upton, Clapham, Regency Park, St David’s, Sheraton Park, Elizabeth Park, South Ridge, Graeme Hall and surrounding areas. Customers in these areas who have a pipe-borne supply at present are asked to store an adequate supply of water for their household needs today as they may experience outages as the day progresses,” a statement from BWA said.

Water tankers will be dispatched to assist residents of the affected areas. (PR)
