The public service vehicle (PSV) sector is reaching boiling point and chairman of the Alliance Owners of Public Transport, Roy Raphael, is calling for an urgent meeting with the Government.

Raphael told the Weekend Nation that between pirating and the changes to the Transport Augmentation Programme (TAP), PSV owners were just about ready to park their vehicles.

“Some of the owners/drivers are considering coming off the road because it makes no financial sense to continue. We have high insurance costs to pay as well as taxes, but we cannot make any money with the Transport Board wildly putting new vehicles on the routes every 15 minutes.” (CA)
