Fatal accident on Highway 2A

A 25-year-old man died in an accident on the Welches, St Thomas, section of the Ronald Mapp Highway (2A) on Thursday night.

Police say Anthony Brathwaite of Mills Apartments, Piton Road, St James was the lone occupant of the car which struck the jersey barriers and burst into flames.

Brathwaite perished in the fire which engulfed the vehicle.

The roadway was cordoned off as investigations began.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen this accident around 9:50 p.m. to contact District A Police Station at 4307242.

At the time, Brathwaite was travelling north from Warrens towards Redman’s Village.

One fire tender and six personnel responded. (PR/SAT)
