Having taken a 1-0 series lead following the first Test against England in the historic biosecure series, big totals will be the major key for the West Indies to retain the Wisden trophy.
Head coach Phil Simmons is challenging his top-order batsmen to score centuries as the three-match series moves to Manchester for the second Test which begins at the Emirates, Old Trafford tomorrow.
The Windies defeated England by four wickets at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton last week compliments a stunning 95 from Jamaican right hander Jermaine Blackwood in the second innings, a five-wicket haul by fast bowler Shannon Gabriel and brilliant captaincy from Jason Holder.
Apart from Blackwood, opener Kraigg Brathwaite (65) and wicket-keeper batsman Shane Dowrich (61) were the only two batsmen to reach half-centuries while all-rounder Roston Chase scored 47 and 37, respectively, as the Caribbean side won convincingly despite a dangerous late spell by Barbadian-born English quick Jofra Archer.
