One man was killed and three people injured in what was described as a “mass shooting” at Train Line Road, Hall’s Road, St Michael, after 10 o’clock on Thursday night.

Police public relations officer, acting inspector Rodney Inniss, told Nation News, the man was motionless when police arrived in the area known as the Marl Hole, and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

His name is being withheld at this time.

Three others who complained of various gunshot injuries were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. They are two males, age 24 and 25, and a 58-year-old woman.

Inniss said it was a residential area with houses on both sides in close proximity to each other and appealed to residents to speak up.

“Persons who live in the area have made a general complaint. Some persons have indicated that there were shots fired through their houses and some are terrified [by] what would have happened.

“When it happens in an area, we need people to speak out; when death comes to your home, you need to speak out,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police emergency at 211, District A at 4307242, Crime Stoppers at 1800-TIPS (8477) or the Criminal Investigation Department at 430-7189. (SAT)
