Barbadians secured 62 house spots within two hours during a land fair yesterday at Deanstown Heights, St James.

Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance Dr William Duguid said: “There was a total of 140 lots. Some would have gone before, but we still had those 62 and we were able to get all sold.”

The land was sold at $18 per square foot, with lots ranging from 5 000 to 6 000 square feet, at a cost of between $90 000 and $95 000.

Recently, Duguid said he intended to build 500 houses. This project, he said, involves the first 140 of those houses.  (RA)
