The Barbados Football Association (BFA) plans to construct a new grass field on the eastern side of the Wildey Turf.

The project will cost an estimated $150 000 and will be fully funded by the world governing body, FIFA.

Work has already started at the BFA’s headquarters and is expected to take an undisclosed period of time in order to upgrade the facility to an international-size training pitch by next year.

BFA president Randy Harris made the disclosure during a telephone interview with NATION SPORT last week in the lead-up to the annual general meeting, which was held on Sunday evening at the Wildey Gymnasium. (AGB)
