Two weather systems which formed over the Tropical Atlantic pose no danger to Barbados, says The Met Office in a media release.
Tropical Storm Paulette and Tropical Depression Eighteen formed in the Tropical Atlantic over the last 24 hours.
At 11 a.m., the centre of Tropical Storm Paulette was located near 17.2N, 42.2W and is moving toward the west-northwest near 3 mph (6 km/h). A general west-northwestward to northwestward motion at a slightly faster speed is expected during the next several days.
The centre of Tropical Depression Eighteen was located near 15.7N, 21.2W and is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h) and this general motion is expected over the next few days. Tropical Depression Eighteen is forecast to become a tropical storm later Monday.
Based on the current locations and forecast tracks, these systems pose no threat to Barbados.
As the two systems move across the Tropical Atlantic, a reduction in wind speeds is forecast over Barbados by mid-week. As a result, conditions during this time will be uncomfortably hot during the day and night. Additionally, localised activity will result in some districts experiencing afternoon showers.
