Killer of bar owner to be sentenced next week

The self-confessed killer of popular Baxter’s Road proprietor Colin Forde, will be sentenced by the No. 2 Supreme Court next week.

Eddisa Deon Mitchell, 24, of 2nd Avenue, Thomas Gap, President Kennedy Drive, St Michael, had his matter adjourned when it came up for hearing yesterday.

Mitchell had pleaded guilty to unlawfully killing – manslaughter – Forde on May 10, 2016, after he had denied murdering the shopkeeper on the same date.

He was represented by attorney Safiya Moore, while Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis prosecuted.

Justice Randall Worrell adjourned sentencing until September 15. (HLE)
