Chargers, UWI start new season on a high

With a strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols, the Barbados Volleyball Association launched its Goddard Enterprises Limited Senior Knockouts on Monday night at the Wildey Gymnasium with the usual suspects scoring easy victories.

A large crowd obviously starved for competitive sports, saw defending champions Chargers dismissing former queens Pan American Insurance Warrens 25-13, 25-20, 25-19.

The greatest interest in that fixture was former Caribbean MVP Anthazia Mason returning to Chargers after playing the past ten years for Warrens.

Mason’s presence in Chargers was an overkill with Sharon Bovell, Thonya Joseph and setter Dashonta Addison being more than adequate to put down a young Warrens team. (KB)
