Trey Cumberbatch is the Rhodes Scholar for the Commonwealth Caribbean for 2021.

Dame Sandra Mason made the announcement at Government House on Tuesday afternoon after a full day of virtual interviews with eight candidates from St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, St Lucia, Grenada and Dominica.

Cumberbatch, 23, will be heading to Oxford University next year where he will research Evidence Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation.

“Don’t give up on your dream, seriously,” he said. “I had so many doubts about this . . . Fight for your dreams and your dreams will fight for you.” (TG)
