Deacons are the double crown kings of Goddard Enterprises Limited senior volleyball.
On Monday night at the Wildey Gymnasium, Deacons predictably added the Division One league crown to their knockout title with a 33-31, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19 win over Progressive.
That was only the second set which Deacons dropped for the entire season as they played a sub par game, far from the battles which they waged over the years, against the only other remaining founding club of domestic volleyball.
The victory carried Deacons to an unassailable 38 points from eight wins with two matches in hand. (KB)
