A second West Coast business announced its closure as a result of contact tracing for COVID-19.

Red Door Lounge, located in 2nd street Holetown, St James, closed because one of the people who recently tested positive for COVID-19 “visited a few spots over the weekend including Red Door Lounge”.

Staff were tested on Thursday, management said in a statement, “and will remain in quarantine until given the all clear by the Ministry of Health”. The facility will also undergo a “thorough deep cleaning and sanitisation” to ensure the safety of patrons, staff and their families.

The lounge had earlier announced the cancellation of New Year’s Eve festivities after Prime Minister Mia Mottley said Barbados would be under curfew from midnight to 5 a.m. from December 31, 2020 through January 14, 2021.

West Bar and Restaurant, located in the nearby Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, Holetown, St James, also posted a notice of its closure after a relative of a member of staff tested positive for COVID-19. Employees were tested for the virus as the public health authorities conduct contact tracing. (SAT)
