Railway expansion in works

If permission is granted, the heritage railway at St Nicholas Abbey will be expanded.

And in addition to taking passengers on scenic tours, the railway would also become a major source of transportation for visitors staying at proposed eco-cottages.

Owner of the historic Cherry Tree Hill, St Peter property, Larry Warren, announced these plans last Friday which, he said, were submitted to the Town & Country Development Planning Office.

“We want to expand the railway and we’ve come up with a plan which is at Town and Country Planning right now to extend the railway over into the 100 acres of land we have over here. It’s like a peninsula.” (TG)
