India, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of drugs, is among several of the places Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has approached for the COVID-19 vaccine.

A senior Government official confirmed that Mottley had indeed written to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi more than three weeks ago and prior to the surge in cases, seeking access to doses of the Covishield vaccine.
