A woman, who became the latest talking point after a video of her being subdued went viral, was granted $5 000 bail yesterday when she appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.

Enid Abiola De-Jong, 48, of Venture, St John, denied assaulting Island Constable Erskine Gill and failing to social distance last Friday.

Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes granted the woman bail and ordered her to return to court on July 23.

In a video making the rounds on social media, the woman and Gill are locked in battle while she was being restrained along Swan Street, The City.

After several attempts, she was wrestled to the ground screaming “I ain’t do nothing! You see what you doing me! You is a lying f*****!”

Curious onlookers gathered and one man was overheard saying: “You can’t curse the man so, mistress.” (RA)
