Accused chides court for delays

HE IS so upset at not being able to plead to three drug matters for the last two years that Dale Eugene Gill is contemplating making the Crown go through a trial.

But don’t call him frustrated. Frustration, he said, was what he was a year ago.

“I have been in front this court since November 15, 2019, pleading guilty. This is exactly 14, gine 15 months that I have been pleading guilty. During this process of pleading guilty I have a list of names of near ten to a dozen that have pleaded guilty six months after me, in front other courts, and already done their sentence and some soon gine home,” Gill told the No. 4 Supreme Court yesterday.

“The other five persons charged with me are looking to fight their case. It seems to me the DPP would like me to wait for eight years to be indicted with five other men who are home on bail [and] looking to fight a case. (HLE)
