COOLIDGE – A third List A hundred from Jonathan Carter failed to spark Barbados Pride in the minor playoff of the West Indies Super50 Cup and a tournament that started with great expectations ended in humiliation.

Hoping to salvage nothing more than what their name implies in their final match of the tournament, Pride were upstaged when Devon Thomas hit his third List A hundred to lead Leeward Islands Hurricanes to a seven-wicket victory at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.

The result condemned the Pride to last in the six-team tournament that comes to a conclusion on Saturday, when favourites Trinidad & Tobago Red Force face Guyana Jaguars in the final at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.

Summarised scores:

Pride 265 for seven off 50 overs (Jonathan Carter 100, Shai Hope 85, Roston Chase 21, Jason Holder 21; Alzarri Joseph 3-44, Quinton Boatswain 3-68).

Hurricanes 270 for three off 48.3 overs (Devon Thomas 117, Keacy Carty 50 not out, Jahmar Hamilton 37 not out, Nitish Kumar 29, Kieran Powell 21).
