Three new virus cases, seven people recover

COVID-19 cases rose by three – all females – on Saturday, May 1. They were identified from among the 258 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Meanwhile, seven people recovered from the viral illness. There are now 92 people in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 3 866 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (1 877 females and 1 989 males) since March 2020, and 3,800 people have recovered. The virus has claimed 44 lives.

A total of 154,599 tests have been conducted by the public health laboratory.

As part of the National Vaccination Programme, 74 608 vaccinations (first doses) – 30 842 men and 43 766 women – have been administered. The second phase of the programme has seen 16 549 people being fully vaccinated, to date. (BGIS)
