Minister of Minister of Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs, Wilfred Abrahams hosted a press briefing to give an update following the passage of Hurricane Elsa.
Among officials in attendance were director of the Department of Emergency Management Kerry Hinds, Director of Meteorological Services Sabu Best, managing director of Barbados Light & Power Company Roger Blackman and general manager of Barbados Water Authority Keithroy Halliday.

- Should be cleared within the hour.
- As the system is replenished, more burst mains will occur.

- 20 000 customers remain to be restored.

- 1 333 – reports of roof damage.
- 326 – other house damage.
- 533 – households need assistance in terms of accommodation.
- Damage reports and socio-economic assessments being undertaken.
Wilfred Abrahams
- Intimate Hotels, Sons of God Apostolic Spiritual Baptist Faith and the Labour College have provided rooms to accommodate people dislocated by Hurricane Elsa.
- Government’s focus is to provide comfort to those affected by Hurricane Elsa.
