12 news cases, 97 people in isolation

Twelve new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), six males and six females, have been identified by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

There were 1 653 tests carried out on Thursday, August 5.

Ninety-seven people are in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 4 455 cases of the viral illness (2 164 females, 2 291 males) and 48 deaths, since March last year.

The public health laboratory has conducted 225 878 tests.

To date, 100 268 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme. A total of 77 922 people (28.8 per cent of the population) are fully vaccinated, having received their second dose. (BGIS)
