ST JOHN’S – West Indies Women’s head coach Courtney Walsh said he will be looking for his side to continue raising the bar and improving when they face South Africa in the first Twenty20 International today in Antigua.

The Windies Women were at their dominant best when they swept Pakistan Women 3-0 in July, but Walsh said the South Africans presented a bigger challenge and his side will need to step things up.

“We are looking to execute as well as we did against Pakistan or better,” he said in a virtual conference yesterday, on the eve of the match at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

“Obviously, South Africa are ranked above us, so we will have to play a lot more consistently than we did against Pakistan, and we will be looking to execute a lot better and improve in the areas that we felt that we fell down in the series against Pakistan.” (AR)
