A flash-flood warning is in effect for western and central districts of Barbados until about 6 p.m.

The Barbados Meteorological Services says maximum rainfall accumulations of 25 to 50mm in heavy to violent showers are expected these areas.

A flash-flood warning is issued when rapid flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.

The warning may be discontinued earlier if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
