The mystery of the two men locked away for decades in the Psychiatric Hospital is no closer to being solved, as an official there admits their early records have been lost to flooding.

The cases of Theo Bourne and John Brathwaite were brought to the
No. 2 Supreme Court’s attention in August after Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim discovered their plight while investigating the case of another patient at the Black Rock facility.

Bourne has so far spent 41 years at the Psychiatric Hospital, having been sent there on October 23, 1980, while Brathwaite has been there since October 1988 – 33 years ago.

Apart from the fact that they were each sentenced to Her Majesty’s Pleasure, no other documentation about the men could be found.
