Olympic sprinter Sada Williams scooped all the major awards at the Barbados Olympic Association’s Sprit of Resilience Awards on Thursday night.

Williams’ exploits this year at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the World Athletics Diamond League saw her voted as the winner of the People’s Choice Award before being named Female Athlete of the Year and claiming the President’s Award.

The quarter miler set a new national record of 50.11 seconds in the 400m at the Olympic Games and followed that performance with a third place finish in the Diamond League final in Zurich.

The virtual ceremony honoured athletes, administrators, supporters and journalists who exhibited determination and national pride in their exploits this past year. (NM)
