Trinidad Ministry of Health: No confirmed case of monkeypox

The Ministry of Health in Trinidad and Tobago has advised the public through its Facebook Page that information circulating about a confirmed case of monkeypox is fake news.

“The public is advised that the image and information . . . is Fake News. Please get reliable information and updates from official sources only, such as the MoH website at www.health.gov.tt and social media pages,” a brief statement noted.

 

On Friday, health officials in Trinidad announced that they were taking precautions regarding monkeypox virus, and the ministry of health in Guyana has since announced that officials are on alert.

 

The United States, Canada, Israel, Switzerland, Australia, and Austria are among countries with confirmed cases of monkeypox, (Nation News)
